Recently secured the Secretary of State's refusal of a mixed-use development scheme in the Ouseburn Valley, Newcastle. The scheme was considered at a "call-in" public inquiry at which the local authority wholly supported the developer's proposals. I acted for English Heritage in opposition to the scheme. The Secretary of State concluded that the scheme should be rejected, memorably describing it as "brutal".
