Tim acts for the valuation officer in this multi-faceted rates litigation. With David Holgate QC, he was successful in the Lands Tribunal and in the Court of Appeal in establishing an important principle about the liability of fibre optic cables (thinner than a human hair) to rates. He continues to act for the valuation officer in the follow-on valuation litigation. With Christopher Vajda QC, he is now acting for the United Kingdom government in Vtesse's related "state aid" appeal to the European Court of First Instance from a decision of the European Commission.
