Now the
leading case on recovery of hope value in leasehold enfranchisement claims, and
use of market evidence. This was a 3 day
appeal to the Court of Appeal on an issue of statutory construction. Tom Jefferies acted for one of the two
successful groups of tenants. The issues were of general significance in all
enfranchisements across the country, and worth hundreds of millions of pounds
to the Estates. The House of Lords has granted Cadogan permission to appeal.
