Climate change regulation and the WTO

Last night I attended the UKELA Climate Change and Energy Working Group meeting on the impact of economics on climate change regulation.
Both speakers (Dr Cameron Hepburn of the LSE and Francesco Sindico of the University of Strathclyde Glasgow) were excellent.
I found particularly interesting Francesco’s Sindico’s discussion of the WTO’s panel decision regarding Canada's measures relating to domestic content requirements in the Ontario feed-in tariff program: see DS412 and DS426: see , and given on 19 December 2012. These related to complaints by Japan and the EU. Press reports suggest Canada is appealing. There was also discussion of other pending cases including China’s complaint about EU over solar power generation programmes in Italy and Greece: see This is a fascinating and developing area.
