JC v Secretary of State for the Home Department: AIT Country Guidance Case.

DATE: 14 May 2008

This case is likely to be important in laying down country guidance on the issues of double jeopardy and re-prosecutions in China, as well as on a myriad of issues relevant to the assessment of risk on return: mechanisms of social controls (hukou), illegal migration, organised crime and torture in detention.  There were 5 experts including one giving evidence by telephone from Hong Kong.
