(Chisnell) v LB Richmond (Newman J) [2005] EWHC 134

DATE: 27 Jan 2005

The Administrative Court has given an important judgment on the requirements for a local planning authority to state its summary grounds for the grant of planning permission in the decision notice.

Newman J held that incorporating the officer's report by reference in the decision notice did not amount to adequate reasons and so quashed the council's grant of planning permission.

Daniel Kolinsky represented the claimant.
