Sasha White has consistently been recognised as one of the leading junior members of the planning bar for many years. He has specialised in all aspects of Planning and Environmental Law for nearly 20 years. In that time he has advised over 500 clients and appeared in over 200 planning inquiries.
After reading Law at Trinity College Cambridge, he was called to the Bar in October 1991. He completed pupillage with Neil King QC, Alun Alesbury and then William Hicks QC before commencing practice in April 1993 at 1 Serjeants Inn whose Head of Chambers were Sir Frank Layfield and then Lionel Read QC. He remained a member when the set merged to form Landmark Chambers in 2002.
Sasha appears regularly at all types of planning inquiries and has represented developers, private clients, local authorities and amenity groups.
During his career he has been instructed by many of the leading developers in the country namely Tesco, Sainsburys, British Gas, Legal and General, Hermes, Berkeley Homes, P&O Developments Ltd, Co-Op, Galliard Homes, Grainger Trust PLC, Cemex, Michael Shanley, Bovis Homes Limited, Persimmon Homes, Stanhope, Wain Homes, Brixton PLC, British Land, National Grid, UBS Global Asset Management and Fairclough Homes.
Sasha has also been instructed by many of the leading planning solicitors and planning consultants. He has also regularly appears in the High Court, Crown Court, Lands Tribunal and Magistrates Court in relation to Planning and Environmental matters. He has particularly expertise in retail, housing, village green applications, compulsory purchase, conservation areas and listed buildings, sporting infrastructure and waste cases.
Sasha has consistently been recommended by all the relevant guides namely Planning Magazine, Chambers UK, Legal Business and The Legal 500.
Sasha spends his spare time watching Arsenal FC, Kent CCC and at the MCC. He also runs and plays for Primrose Hill Elephants CC and manages the U13s Colts 1st XI. He is married with 3 children.
Sasha graduated in law from Trinity College Cambridge.
Sasha is the author of Planning Appeals which is a textbook covering all matters concerning the law, practice and policy relating to planning appeals.
He has lectured widely on such subjects as the Planning Bill, the IPC, the Planning Policy relating to London and the issue of costs in Public Inquiries.
He has also contributed articles and legal comments to Planning magazine.
