Rupert Warren is a leading junior specialising in all aspects of planning and related fields.
He was called in 1994, and undertook pupillage at Blackstone Chambers before moving to 2 Mitre Court Buildings to specialise in planning. He moved to Landmark in 2003.
Rupert undertakes work for developers and for the public sector.
His current case load includes the promotion of a new stadium for Everton F.C. and related retail development for Tesco Stores, a major mixed-use extension for Capel House Property Trust on the edge of Daventry, compensation claims for the Highways Agency relating to the T5 spur road, the A2 and A34, and the rating of major office buildings in the City for the Inland Revenue. He continues to represent the Secretary of State regularly in High Court planning challenges.
Rupert aims to provide the highest quality service in advocacy and advisory work in the planning field. His approach is based on delivering this service in an innovative and user-friendly way. Where appropriate, that includes developing an in-depth understanding of the clients business.
Rupert was the highest placed planning barrister under 35 for three years until 2004 in the annual Planning Magazine survey. In 2005 he was voted as the second placed junior overall and in 2006 achieved joint first place.
The 2009 Chambers UK guide placed Rupert in the first rank of leading juniors.
