David Holland was called to the Bar in 1986 and practised at 29 Bedford Row before joining Landmark Chambers in September 2002.
The core of his practice is all forms of property litigation. He also practises in the areas of professional negligence and costs. He is a member of the Chancery Bar Association, the Property Bar Association and the Professional Negligence Bar Association.
David acts for all types of client in all types of dispute within his specialist areas. His clients range from individual householders to the largest property developers and landowners. He has represented local authorities, firms of solicitors and representative bodies.

He is listed as a leading junior in costs as well as for property litigation in both the Legal 500 and in Chambers & Partners Directory 2009. The 2009 Chambers states that David is “very forceful on his feet but adapts his approach to the situation well” with a “skilful style that is peppered with humour” (Real Estate Litigation) and that he “is an imposing presence in this field” with a “sharp brain and feisty advocacy” (Costs Litigation). The Legal 500 (2008) described him as 'frighteningly good' and a 'feisty character' with a 'fantastic sense of humour' whilst the 2009 edition states that he is an “effective lateral thinker, and very quick to respond to events in court. Responsive and approachable, he is fun to work with” (Costs) whose “commercial approach is appreciated by solicitors” (Property Litigation”).
David regularly gives lectures and seminars both as part of the Landmark seminar series and elsewhere.
David’s interests include watching test match cricket, food and wine, and listening to classical music. He is a member of Lancashire County Cricket Club and an Associate Member of the MCC.
