With a planning and property law background, Joseph was called to the Bar in 1970 and took Silk in 1992. In the Environmental field Joseph also works in the fields of Environmental Impact Assessments, carbon audits and SPA assessments.

Joseph is also a member (and former committee member) of the Planning and Environment Bar Association, and the lead editor of the Planning Encyclopedia.
